    POSITION TITLE:  Sr Manager, Procurement/Commodities
    DEPARTMENT:  Procurement

    POSITION SUMMARY
    The Senior Manager, Procurement is responsible for the procurement of ~$200 million in spend of commodity based items including Dairy, Oils and Grains and further processed products in utilizing these commodity items for SD clients. This person will be required to understand how to determine supplier capabilities and capacity with a clear understanding of the upstream and downstream impact on the overall customer(s) experience. The Senior Manager, Procurement must create and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, internal constituents / Client Solutions and customers. The Senior Manager is involved in all aspects of sourcing requiring the skills necessary to identify cost saving opportunities, create and execute RFP’s in accordance with the RFP Calendar, create competitive environments, creatively negotiate, generate contracts and manage delivery of optimal solutions. The Senior Manager is required to review purchasing data and must have the skills to identify cost-cutting opportunities and cost containment opportunities. This job requires a high degree of motivation, integrity and flexibility to succeed.
    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Negotiates with vendors on booking raw materials of Dairy, Oils, Grains and further processed products utilizing these commodity items
    • Maintains commodity tracker to assist Client Solutions in reporting current status of commodity bookings
    • Report on Commodity trends and forecasts risk in related fields to present strategies on hedging and contracts to clients
    • Creates and continuously maintains updated Category Strategy plan with all elements of a short and long term strategy for categories under management
    • Analyzes and interprets data in coordination with the Supply Chain Analyst via the contract management system and business intelligence tools
    • Maintains accountability for work status within assigned projects, targeting project completion dates aligned with required deadlines and time commitments
    • Responsible for overall RFP and contract management within assigned categories
    • Seeks opportunity to “pool” volumes among customers/ leverage buying power
    • Responsible for processing appropriate customer and supplier required documentation
    • Complies with policies, practices and risk mitigation strategies
    • Monitors supplier/vendor status and performance
    • Responsible for preparing BID packets to be submitted to vendors on behalf of the Supply Management department
    • Ability to negotiate all elements of cost including base ingredients, freight rates and landed cost
    • Identifies vendor opportunities and challenges and partners with internal stakeholders, as appropriate, to ensure desired outcomes, i.e. executed opportunities, resolved challenges.
    • Identifies opportunities to expand contracted items through RFP/bids and increase overall percentage of customer contracts
    • Reports concerns related to defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine cause of the problem and to ensure corrective and preventative action occurs
    • Assists Purchasing and Finance team in reporting of KPI, benchmarking and price forecasting reports Provides guidance and leadership for Procurement Managers
    • Communicates opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy and customer satisfaction
    • Completes assigned monthly contract negotiations and maintenance
    • Ensures assigned Pricing Analysis (PA’s) are completed accurately and provided to Finance team

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Client Solutions Program Manager is a client-facing role, responsible for managing all aspects of assigned client supply chain programs to ensure a successful execution of the tactics and strategy of their supply chain.  This role works directly with various functions within the client’s organization to deliver on both the client’s brand projects, as well as joint projects established to achieve both supply chain and brand goals.  The Client Solutions Program Manager reviews client spend portfolio for opportunities and works with procurement team to expand product spend and product cost reduction for assigned clients, while ensuring organizational capacity for achieving these outcomes is available.  This role must collaborate with other Client Solutions team members, purchasing personnel, finance and risk management, and distribution as appropriate, to ensure favorable client outcomes.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Understands and execute on supply chain strategy and goals created in collaboration between all stakeholders and clients
    • Responsible for maintaining a focus on understanding the client's business, anticipating needs and building positive relationships, reporting of contract savings, performance and opportunities, large and small
    • Communicates supply chain and project status information to client leadership in regular updates
